Abstract: This study explores the promotion of international collaboration in vocational training, focusing on partnerships, exchange programs, and collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing global competencies and skills acquisition among vocational students in Nigeria. International collaboration in vocational education facilitates knowledge exchange, cultural understanding, and skill development aligned with global industry standards and trends. The research aims to (1) assess the impact of international collaboration on enhancing vocational training quality and relevance, (2) explore perceptions and experiences of stakeholders regarding the benefits and challenges of international partnerships in vocational education, and (3) propose strategies for fostering sustainable international collaborations to enrich student learning experiences and promote global citizenship. A survey research design is justified to gather insights from vocational educators, international program coordinators, and industry representatives involved in cross-border vocational training initiatives. A sample size of 400 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent vocational educators, international program coordinators, and industry partners in Abuja, FCT. Case studies will examine successful international collaboration models and their outcomes in promoting cross-cultural competence and global employability skills among vocational students. Findings indicated positive impacts of international collaboration on student cultural awareness and employability, identified challenges such as funding constraints and logistical barriers, and highlighted the role of institutional partnerships, curriculum integration, and virtual exchange platforms in enhancing international vocational training initiatives. Recommendations include expanding funding opportunities, leveraging digital technologies for virtual exchanges, and promoting cross-cultural competency training to sustain effective international collaborations in vocational education.
